I want this song to sound fun/upbeat (like def. dance-y in the chorus), but also heartfelt and sweet. I really hear a combo of electronic instruments (maybe synth, drums?, driving bass, ear candy), but also acoustic, likely via guitar. Want to leave space for the vocal to shimmer above and for the arrangement to sound clean and light.
Overall production feels pretty spot on; love the blend of acoustic and electronic sounds. I like the driving bass/drums as well...I think since my song mentions dancing and "beat of our favorite song," the drum/driving force needs to be right. I like that this song feels upbeat and like something people would sing along to on the radio while they're driving. The background ghosted vocal chanting is something I'd like for my chorus when I repeat "dancing on". Also like the minimalism of overall the arrangement.
I like most of this production but I'm not I feel about the plucked guitar motif...I can't put my finger on it but it may be the sound itself that is not dreamy enough? Or it's too simplistic...
Half of my hometown
Nostalgic guitar picking in the verses; build up/transition into the chorus; overall sentimental value of the production. The soft electro drum beat in the verses is cool too. I really like the transition from the bridge to the chorus: swooshing noise into the softer vocal, which then builds back up (this is what I want to do with my last chorus).
I don't want my song to sound "country"....pop country w/o twang in the electric guitar. I like the sentimental aspect of pop country but I don't like when the instrumentation leans into country if that makes sense (which overall I don't feel this song does, but wanted to clarify it)
I really like the atmosphere of this song; sweeping reverb-y synth and electric guitars, the softness of all of the background instruments. The soft bass/kick pulse is cool as well.
The vocals are a bit too drowned out for what I'd be going for. I def. don't want that much reverb on the lead vocal....I'd want it to be more present, but playing around with background vocal texture stuff could be cool.
